Steering Committee for Planning and Protection of Arab Rights in the Negev

GOALS
Advancing the rights of the Bedouin in the Negev , particularly in respect to land and provision of basic services to the Bedouin community.

BACKGROUND
The Steering Committee for Planning and Protection of Arab Rights in the Negev focuses on the professional aspects of the planning and legal processes related to land. The Committee is a professional entity and is not based on representation, which is the main focus of RCUV.

STRATEGIES
Alternative planning, court petitions, consulting services on the individual and village levels, and consciousness-raising.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Establishing a body that will deal with handling of individual counterclaims by the State against the Bedouin.
• Guidance in planning, both on an individual and village levels.
• Preparing master plans of villages that have been recognized or are in the process of obtaining recognition, mainly in the Abu Basma Regional Council.
• Legal and planning monitoring projects.
