Recent Projects Funded by Canadian Donors

  • Training course on multiculturalism with representatives from the
    Israeli Arab, Russian, Ethiopian and Mizrachi communities
  • Inter-denominational effort utilizing traditional Jewish sources and texts to combat racism in Israeli society
  • Supporting grassroots efforts assisting immigrant women running micro-businesses
  • Helping create organizations and new networking skills for single parents addressing the needs of 112,000 families
  • Women's empowerment training, for example encouraging Bedouin women's participation in their children's school committees as well as pursuing their own higher education
  • Working with Department of Youth Services to upgrade quality of
    services to immigrant youth at risk
  • Facilitating A Rainbow of Mothers project – Ethiopian women helping students with learning disabilities
  • Promoting mutual understanding and overcoming conflict in workplaces with Jewish and Arab Israelis
  • Consulting to over 35 organizations representing immigrants from the former Soviet Union
  • Coordinating a Special Education Coalition addressing the lack of
    Israeli Arab speech therapists
  • Helping establish the Conflict Transformation and Management Centre, a think tank and consulting resource helping organizations to handle internal and external conflict effectively. The Centre was involved in reducing conflict in the August 2005 disengagement.
