SHATIL’s Avi Dabush Honored by Ma’ariv

January 6, 2008

The daily newspaper Ma'ariv chose SHATIL's Avi Dabush as one of ten Israelis who most influenced the environment in 2007. Among others selected for their roles in "leading Israel's green revolution" was President Shimon Peres. Ma'ariv honored Dabush, who heads SHATIL's Environmental Justice Project, because of his successes as coordinator of the Forum for Cellular Sanity. Pressure from the Forum led the government to pass regulations for the safe installation of cellular antennas.

"This struggle is not just environmental but also social," Dabush, 31, told Ma'ariv. "We cannot tolerate a situation in which antennas are hidden from the public and people are prevented from expressing their opinions."
