 the globe. <br /> <br /> The Green Environment Fund’s mission is to prom
 ote environmental sustainability through equitable\, responsible and compr
 ehensive environmental policies and actions\, which benefit all sectors of
  Israeli society. Among other achievements\, the GEF has most recently bee
 n fundamental in dramatically reshaping the Israeli government’s harmful
  Planning Reform Bill\, championing the safety and rights of Israel’s en
 vironment and public. <br /> </span></p>\n<p><span style='font-family: ver
 dana\,geneva\; font-size: 10pt\;'><b>About the speaker:</b></span></p>\n<p
 ><span style='font-size: 10pt\; font-family: verdana\,geneva\;'>Jay Shofet
  is the Director of the Green Environment Fund\, a unique consortium of fu
 nders guided by Jewish and humanitarian values\, created in part by the NI
 F. Prior to his work with the GEF\, Jay served as the Director of the Reli
 gious Pluralism Project and of Resource Development Consultation at SHATIL
 \, the New Israel Fund's Empowerment and Training Center for social change
  organizations in Israel. He recently finished a third term on the executi
 ve board for the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism.</span></p>

 isible Men' tells the untold story of persecuted gay Palestinians who have
  run away from their families and are now hiding illegally in Tel Aviv. Th
 eir stories will be told through the film's heroes: Louie\, 32 years old\,
  a gay Palestinian who has been hiding in Tel Aviv for the past 8 years\; 
 Abdu\, 24 years old\, who was exposed as gay in Ramallah and then accused 
 of espionage and tortured by Palestinian security forces\; Faris\, 23 year
 s old\, who escaped to Tel Aviv from the West Bank after his family tried 
 to kill him. Their only chance for survival -- to seek asylum outside Isra
 el and Palestine and leave their homelands forever behind.</p>
