 t what led to the massive support of the social justice movements\, and wh

 the <strong>Association for Civil Rights in Israel</strong> (ACRI) is Isra
 el’s oldest and largest human rights organization and the only one deali
 ng with the entire spectrum of rights and civil liberties issues in Israel
  and the Occupied Territories.  ACRI is committed to promoting the univer
 sality of human rights and defending the human rights and civil liberties 
 of all\, regardless of religion\, nationality\, gender\, ethnicity\, polit
 ical affiliation\, sexual orientation\, or socioeconomic background. <stro
 ng>Hagai El-Ad</strong> joined ACRI as Executive Director in July 2008. He
  brings to ACRI extensive experience as a leader in the field of human rig
 hts\, in Israel and abroad. Most recently\, he served as the first executi
 ve director of the Jerusalem Open House (JOH)\, the community and advocacy
