The New Israel Fund's Legal Professionals initiative invites our community to an Israeli Business Forum event on Wednesday, July 27 with Professor Neta Ziv.  A former vice-chair of the NIF Board, Professor Ziv currently serves as the director of Clinical Education Programs at Tel Aviv University.  She has acted as counsel in many of Israel’s major human rights cases argued before the Israeli Supreme Court, and is also a prominent advocate for women's rights and the rights of people with disabilities. 
 
The event will feature a conversation on the topic "Women, Religion and Individual Liberties: The Israeli Model," as well as networking opportunities.

About the speaker:
 
Prof. Neta Ziv is the director of The Cegla Clinical Law Programs at the Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University. She is the academic supervisor of the Housing and Community Law Clinic and teaches courses on Legal Ethics and the Legal Profession, Law and Social Change and Rights of People with Disabilities.

Prof. Ziv served as a leading attorney in some of Israel’s major human rights cases litigated before the Israeli Supreme Court. She was among the founding members of the Israel Women’s Network Legal Center; served as the chair of Bizchut, the Israel Human Rights Center for People with Disabilities, and currently serves as a board member of "Itach - Women Lawyers for Social Justice." She was a board member and Vice President of The New Israel Fund.

Prof. Ziv received her LL.B. from the Hebrew University, her LL.M. from The American University in Washington, DC and a J.S.D. from Stanford Law School in California.
