A columnist for the Wall Street Journal -- Bret Stephens -- writes that President Barack Obama’s claim to being pro-Israel is dishonest.

His evidence?  Long-time Obama advisor David Axelrod is a donor to NIF.  Others associated with NIF -- like our former Vice President BettyLu Saltzman -- introduced the president to American Jews at the start of his political career, allegedly giving him a distorted sense of American Jewish values.

"One wonders," he writes, "why organizations more in tune with those 'real' views rarely seem to find much of a base."

Let's prove him wrong. Let's show him how big our base really is.

Mr. Stephens’ broadside -- which also takes cheap shots at Americans for Peace Now and J Street -- appears to be part of an election-year effort to drive a wedge between the president, pro-Israel progressives and the American Jewish community.

Last week, the far-right Emergency Committee for Israel took out a full page ad in the New York Times slamming liberal advocacy groups, including the Center for American Progress -- which is close to the President --as well as some of the mainstream philanthropies that fund them.

That ad drew the rebuke of the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation League, Alan Dershowitz, and others.  Now it’s our turn to respond.

Take action. Show the Wall Street Journal that Mr. Stephens is out of touch with Jewish values.
