CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: The New Generations
Facilitation Fellowship

A Project of the New Israel Fund
to Promote Community Conversations on Israel
and Social Justice in the Bay Area

The polarized discourse around Israel in the American Jewish community is increasingly preventing young American Jews from speaking openly and productively about political and social issues connected to Israel. NIF’s New Generations aims to address the need for meaningful dialogue and deliberation by cultivating spaces throughout the Bay Area’s young Jewish community where honest and inclusive public conversation on Israel is not only welcome, but celebrated. New Israel Fund is honored to work alongside key community efforts in the Bay Area, like the Year of Civil Discourse, that have contributed deeply to this work. New Generations seeks to convene innovative discussions specifically designed for young Jews in our 20s and 30s who want to talk about Israel and social justice. NIF believes that creating more conversation spaces like these for a new generation of US Jewry will not only sustain and strengthen our Jewish community at home— but could help support a vision of democracy and equality in Israel itself.

Toward that end, New Generations is excited to invite Bay Area Jews in their 20s and 30s to apply for its first Facilitation Fellowship, which will train 8-10 leaders to foster meaningful, direct conversations on Israel and social justice for the Bay Area’s Jewish community and beyond. DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED! Applications are due on October 22nd by 5pm and applicants will be notified of results no later than November 1st.

While the New Israel Fund has a number of longstanding leadership cohorts in Israel, this launch marks our first leadership cohort in the US. We are thrilled to launch this pilot program, and look forward to hearing from you.
