COMMUNITY + CONSCIENCE

New Generations is an open and vibrant community of young professionals, social activists, and community leaders in their 20s and 30s, who are committed to the work of the New Israel Fund, the leading organization promoting social justice and equality for all Israelis.

It is our privilege and responsibility to help grow Israel into a land where all of its peoples live with safety and dignity.

Jessica Zimmerman, 30s

Today’s young Jews grapple with Israel in ways that previous generations did not, confronting a complex view of a country where inspiring successes are presented alongside pressing challenges to a truly just and equitable society.   The New Generations program offers the next generation of Jews an opportunity to connect with Israel in a way that reflects progressive values—confronting orthodoxies, seeking alternatives, looking for meaning, and listening to a diversity of opinions.

Throughout the year, New Generations offers a variety of programs that address the issues and challenges facing Israel today.  These include discussions with leading Israeli social activists, film screenings, social events, Shabbat dinners, an annual Benefit gala, and a trip to Israel

We invite you to join our community.

Host a house party for social justice in Israel: we’ll provide you with the tools and resources to plan and lead a discussion about the most current issues affecting Israeli society, from migrant workers in the country, to the debate about civil marriage, to women’s rights, and more.

I came back from a year in Israel all fired up to do what I could to strengthen the country in whatever meaningful ways I could. I asked my smart Israeli friends which organizations were doing the most on the ground to work for positive change, and the New Israel Fund was far and away the most frequently mentioned, with lots of real world examples.

I support NIF because I want to support the State of Israel in a righteous and honest way.  I want a State of Israel that welcomes the whole spectrum of Jewish life, and that addresses the challenges it faces in its civil society head on.  NIF is at the forefront of progressive social change in Israel, and it makes me proud to be a Jew.

Daniel Marks Cohen, 30s
