About the OrganizersThe Jewish social justice community has come together to present this open, non-political, facilitated dialogue about social justice and Israel. Makom at the Jewish Agency for Israel, in partnership with the New Israel Fund, is interested in opening these questions up and pursuing a dialogue between the Israel and social justice worlds. MakomMakom fosters Israel education and engagement through a core understanding that the engagement with Israel includes elements of both wrestling and hugging. Our aim is to root a new relationship between Israel and the Jewish world based on an honest and dynamic encounter with the complexity of life and identity, both in Israel and around the world. Through a conversationalist educational model, we believe that the structure and practice of Jewish organizations regarding Israel can be re-imagined and reinvigorated.
