Farewell to Eliezer Yaari

The NIF family gathered in Jerusalem's Khan Theater on Monday night to say farewell to outgoing NIF Israel Executive Director Eliezer Yaari, who stepped down in November following a 12 year tenure.  NIF's Board of Directors and dozens of colleagues and friends paid tribute to Yaari's leadership in Israel's social change movement.

Clearly touched by the occasion, Yaari said, "Most important of all over the past decade, we have given voice to so many Israelis who would otherwise not have been heard.  At a time when democracy, the Supreme Court and freedom of the press are under threat from the government and the Knesset, the social change movement that NIF has nurtured is vital in maintaining the democratic balance."
