SHATIL Questions Government Decision to Privatize Israel Electric Corporation

In the wake of the government’s decision to privatize and divide the Israel Electric Corporation, Israel’s environmental organizations asked SHATIL to convene an ad-hoc think tank to evaluate the move. The group met with government officials, Knesset members, workers’ committees and academics to study the issue and identify the problems that could result from such a move. The group is now writing a position paper summarizing its findings and is embarking on a work plan. NIF News will continue to report the new group’s activities.
