Dan Arieli Gives Sold-Out Talk to NIF Supporters

3 July 2014

Two weeks ago, NIF held its most successful public event in Israel yet – a lecture by Professor Dan Arieli, the New York Times bestselling author of “Predictably Irrational” and “The Upside of Irrationality.” The event in Tel Aviv was completely sold out –more than 500 people filled the hall, with many more sitting outside.

The talk, “Irrationally Yours,” focused on the relationship between social justice and behavioral economics. Arieli addressed the 2011 social protests, arguing that they resulted in a number of positive developments which have the potential to lead to greater changes in the future.

The massive size of the crowd meant that hundreds of new people were exposed to NIF’s work, and similar events are planned for the future. Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, NIF and Beit Hillel joined forces for a unique evening of social justice comedy headlined by famous Israeli comedian Tal Friedman, which was attended by around 400 people and featured sketches on the problems of public transportation, the cost of living, and much more. The event was held to mark the third anniversary of the social justice protests.
