Experience Israel and explore social justice issues through the world of art.
Explore the issues:
Go beyond the headlines to examine the realities of contemporary Israel. Explore the critical social justice issues affecting Israeli society today – civil and human rights, religious freedom and tolerance, racism, violence and extremism, and economic parity. Meet the leaders of Israel’s dynamic social change movement and explore how art is used as a tool for change. Learn about everyday life for Israelis living in the midst of complicated social, economic and political times.
Stretch your mind:
With a parallel focus on the arts in Israel, we will have an opportunity to visit artists in their galleries, attend a theater performance, listen to music, watch a movie with the filmmaker, explore museums and much more. Our tour of the Israeli arts will focus on the artists’ ability to use their talent and creativity to deliver messages of hope and despair, fear and inspiration, and create open and thoughtful spaces in which ordinary citizens can wrestle with the questions of social justice and equate making art with making change.
