NIF seeks a dedicated, creative, energetic individual to serve as Program Officer in its New York headquarters. The Program Officer will initiate, develop and execute NIF programs in the New York/Tri-State region and will be responsible for our New Generations young professionals’ initiative. The Program Officer reports to the Senior Director of NIF’s NY/Tri-State region, works within the NY/Tri-State regional team, and collaborates closely with NIF’s Public Engagement department.

LOCATION: NIF’s New York City office


  • Initiate and manage programs in the Tri-State area (approximately 30-35 per year), including communications, preparation, and follow-up with constituents and supporters
  • Develop the calendar and framing for programs in the NY/Tri-State region in close partnership with the regional development team and NIF’s Public Engagement department
  • Plan and implement individual programs
  • Perform goal-setting and evaluation of programs vis-à-vis regional and national development and public engagement strategies
  • Oversee program-related communications (including email blasts, social media marketing, on-site materials, and follow-up)
  • Steward donor relationships and cultivation as related to programming
  • Work with NY team to develop strategy for targeted programming based on geographic and demographic/professional affinity and develop regional leadership opportunities
  • Help oversee program intern(s) as needed


  • Organize the NIF NY/Tri-State region’s New Generations young adult community, developing programming and lay leadership
  • Collaborate with other regional New Generations staff
  • Initiate giving circles and other community building and fundraising initiatives within New Generations


  • 5 years relevant work experience in program creation and project management
  • Commitment to NIF’s issues and values
  • Highly responsible: ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage the details of complex programs
  • Team player: ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, to delegate tasks within a project and respect and value the work of others
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, steady demeanor and the ability to work well with lay leaders and colleagues
  • Appetite for a fast-paced working environment and ability to manage several projects at a time
  • Understanding of the complex nature of Israeli society; passion for the work of human rights and social justice for Israelis and Palestinians
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Computer proficiency essential; Raiser’s Edge, Salsa or other CRM and HTML skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • Proficiency in Hebrew and time spent living or traveling in Israel a plus
  • Experience with direct fundraising or working with a fundraising team a plus
