Composing for Peace: A Concert for Social Change

25 May 2018

On Thursday, May 10th, hundreds of people came together in New York for a night of solidarity, of artistic defiance, and of hope for a better future. We were proud to partner with Seeds of Peace and The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center to make this event happen.

Three renowned musician — NIF Board Member Noa (Achinoam Nini) and NIF International Council Members David Broza and Mira Awad — performed and shared stories about the unique role that music and the arts play in social change and Israel today. These stars performed together for the first time.

They were joined by the talented Aaron Shneyer, Ami Yares, Arnon Naor (Sun Tailor), Ashraf Ghandour, Gil Dor, Micah Hendler, and Sameh “SAZ” Zakout.

The performance included a special guest — Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. Here are Mira, David, Noa, and Peter singing Bob Dylan’s iconic peace anthem, Blowin’ In the Wind, in Hebrew, Arabic, and English:
