Legacy Giving

Meet NIF’s Legacy Society Members:

Rabbi Brian Lurie

photo of Rabbi Brian LurieMy career in the American Jewish community has always been about values and outcomes.

Some may view me as having moved to the left over the years. But I never moved. The Jewish community and the Israel conversation changed. What I have always cared about is an Israel that survives and thrives, an Israel that reflects its founding Jewish and democratic values.

Israel’s Declaration of Independence is a magnificent document. The organization that most holds fast to this declaration is the New Israel Fund, which strives for an Israel “based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel,” that ensures “complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or gender.”

For this reason I am happy to serve on NIF’s Board of Directors as (Past) President, and to continue to support NIF beyond my lifetime.
