Jim Koshland, Treasurer of the New Israel Fund Board, is a retired partner at DLA Piper US LLP law firm, where he focused on corporate law matters with extensive experience handling formations of companies, venture capital financings and merger and acquisition transactions.

He currently sits on the Boards of the American Jewish World Service, Jewish Senior Living Group, the Koshland Foundation, Opportunity Fund, and the UC Berkeley Foundation. He has previously served on the Boards of Levi Strauss & Co., Launch Media, Jewish Vocational Services, SF Jewish Community Federation, Education Outside, Taub Center, Jewish Distribution Committee, Reboot, Menlo Park/Atherton Education Foundation, Stanford Law School Board of Visitors and Taube-Koret Campus for Jewish Life.

Jim received his BA in History from Haverford in 1973 and his JD from Stanford University in 1978. Jim is married to Dr. Catherine P. Koshland, Professor of Engineering at UC Berkeley who currently is Interim Provost.
