In a new statement, Dr. Gerald Steinberg and NGO Monitor dispute the indisputable – that last week, they put out a “report” about Coalition of Women for Peace as an NIF-supported organization, despite having been personally informed by our top official in Israel, Rachel Liel, that that is not the case.

As we have real work to do, here are the facts:

• As our statement pointed out, the New Israel Fund has not made a direct grant to CWP since 2008. CWP is no longer on the list of approved donor-advised organizations.
• If NGO Monitor ever provided audited financial statements to the public, as we do, they would understand that these always lag the end of the calendar year by several months, as careful and professional audits take time. Our 2010 audited financials will be available next month. We’d like to see NGOM’s, as well.
• We have asked CWP to remove our name and funding direction from their website. Perhaps NGOM could spare the ‘research’ for a phone call to that organization to determine the truth.
