The New Israel Fund today condemned the terror attack targeting Israelis vacationing in Bulgaria in the strongest possible terms. Seven are reported dead and more than thirty injured.

Daniel Sokatch, NIF’s CEO, said:

“Every member of the New Israel Fund family is saddened and angered by the attack on Israeli tourists vacationing in Bulgaria yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with the survivors and the families of the victims.

“This attack, coming on the anniversary of the 1994 terror attack on a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, is particularly egregious. Attacks on Israelis — or Jews, or any such incident anywhere in the world — can never be tolerated.

“We stand with all of Israel to condemn this terrorism. All Israelis deserve to live secure lives as part of a just and equal society.”
