In response to the Knesset passing a law, which prevents the Attorney General from declaring a prime minister unfit to serve, New Israel Fund CEO Daniel Sokatch released the following statement:

“Checks and balances are a fundamental part of democracy. Netanyahu’s extremist government pushes Israel further and further away from democracy with each law it passes. I am heartened and inspired by the hundreds of thousands of Israelis who are taking to the streets to reject this government’s dangerous agenda. We won’t give up until we secure equality, justice, and democracy for all.”
