NIF grantee the Movement for Freedom of Information has been awarded the prestigious Knights for Quality Government award by the Movement for Quality Government in Israel.

Over the last few years, the Movement for Freedom of Information has been at the forefront of a number of important struggles for greater transparency, including the decision forcing government ministries to publicly report their quarterly expenses, statistics on settlement funding, and the high cost of the Chief Rabbinate’s control over the lives of ordinary Israelis.

NIF is proud to support the Movement for Freedom of Information, which works with the Knesset, government ministries, local authorities, and other public institutions in order to advance the core democratic principle of transparency.

The more open the authorities will be towards the citizens, the better the decision-making will be, and the stronger our public servants will be.
