Jewish-Arab partnership is critical to Israel’s moral fabric, to its democratic future, and any hope of Israel fulfilling its founding vision — one based on equality for all Israelis and Palestinians. That has been a focus of our work for decades.
But this moment of crisis demands more of us. Right now, we have to act—to dedicate our resources toward a long-term vision of equality and shared society.
So here is our three-part plan:
1. We’ll reinforce our partners and projects working for shared society and against racism—today and for the long-term. Groups like Sikkuy, Abraham Initiatives and Givat Haviva have built relationships and trusted programs over years. Now is when they need a new level of capacity to repair what’s being broken.
2. We will respond swiftly to urgent requests to meet emerging needs in this moment, from supporting pop-up vigils and demonstrations, to neighborhood watches to keep communities safe, to legal aid and more.
3. We will identify and support activists and organizations at the grassroots with a new one million shekel fund. While some leaders seem intent on widening the divides between neighbors, we know there are a lot of people out there looking to bridge them.
