NIF’s flagship grantee Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) and the Parents Association for East Jerusalem Schools have petitioned the Jerusalem Court for Administrative Affairs asking that the Jerusalem municipality be required to repair serious safety flaws in East Jerusalem schools, before the beginning of the school year on September 1.

A safety examination conducted in 52 educational institutions across neighborhoods in East Jerusalem found that there were no street signs by the schools, no speed bumps, or pedestrian crossings. ACRI said, “This is criminal neglect and discrimination by the Jerusalem Municipality.”
