Janine Frier is a committed volunteer and a devoted advocate for volunteerism and philanthropy. Prior to joining the New Israel Fund board, she sat on the NIF International Council and DC Baltimore Leadership Council.
Janine has a BA in Early Childhood Education and a MA in Jewish Education. She is the current Chair of the Board of Director’s for Krieger Schechter Day School in Baltimore where she has served for fourteen years. She was the Development Chair prior to becoming the Board Chair and has co-chaired and helped organize a number of their large fundraising projects. She is currently serving on the organizing committee of a Baltimore grassroots group, who are working to get out the vote in the midterm elections. She has served on the Board of directors of Art With a Heart, a Baltimore non-profit organization, which enhances the lives of people in need through visual art. And has also worked on and headed numerous event committees for a number of Baltimore organizations.
Janine grew up in South Africa, has lived in Israel for a short while and moved to the United States in 1987. She is married and has four children. Social Justice and Jewish causes have always been close to her heart. And she is passionate about the important work of NIF.
