Janine Frier

Janine Frier is a committed volunteer and a devoted advocate for volunteerism and philanthropy. Prior to joining the New Israel Fund board, she sat on the NIF International Council and DC Baltimore Leadership Council.

Janine has a BA in Early Childhood Education and a MA in Jewish Education. She is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of Krieger Schechter Day School. She was the Development Chair prior to becoming the Board Chair and has co-chaired and helped organize a number of their large fundraising projects. She has served on the Board of Directors of Art With a Heart, a Baltimore non-profit organization, which enhances the lives of people in need through visual art. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of The Cavanagh House, which provides training in textile industry skills, as a pathway to financial independence, is on the East Coast Advisory Council for World Bicycle Relief, and is the USA representative of The Angel Network, which works to alleviate poverty and social injustices in South African communities.

Janine grew up in South Africa, has lived in Israel for a short while, and moved to the United States in 1987. She has four children and currently lives in Baltimore. Social justice and Jewish causes have always been close to her heart, and she is passionate about the important work of NIF.
