Due to the increase in gender segregation on public transportation and public displays of hatred, NIF grantee Israel Hofsheet has launched a campaign designed to raise awareness of women’s rights in public spaces in general and on public transportation in particular. 

The campaign, which is being led by two of Israel’s best known actresses, Alona Sa’ar and Alma Zack, reminds women that it is their legal right to sit anywhere they want on a bus and no one can stop women from boarding a bus because of how they are dressed. 

In addition to a public awareness campaign, Israel Hofsheet is also taking action. They created a WhatsApp hotline to help women who experience segregation or other discrimination in public.
