Celebrating LGBTQ Identities through Film

13 June 2019

This Pride Month, the New Israel Fund is sponsoring the LGBTQ film festival in Tel Aviv.

TLVFest is a unique annual event that takes place at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque every June. The festival offers public screenings of films, meetings with local and foreign filmmakers, panel discussions, and special events. The festival strives to promote tolerance and pluralism in Israeli society, featuring a vast array of LGBTQ films.

In addition to displaying worldwide cinema, the festival encourages original Israeli film, and provides exposure and a public stage for local filmmakers.

Throughout the year, the festival runs the TLVFest Movie Club, purchasing theatrical rights of selected LGBTQ international films for distribution in Israel and hosting monthly film screenings.

NIF is proud to support TLVFest along with many other LGBTQ organizations, and will continue to fight for tolerance and LGBTQ rights in Israeli society.
